Juba International Airport

Juba Airport is an airport serving Juba City, the capital of South Sudan. The airport lies to the northeast of the city’s central business district, on the western banks of the White Nile. It is one of the two international airports in South Sudan, the other one being Malakal International Airport.

Juba Airport handles international regional and domestic flights including cargo air traffic and chartered commercial flights.

Juba International Airport was improved and expanded in 2011. The improvement included expansion of the passenger and cargo terminal buildings, resurfacing of the runway and installation of landing lights to facilitate night operations.

Malakal Airport

Malakal Airport is located in Malakal Town in Malakal County in the Upper Nile state. The airport is located just north of the town’s central business district, adjacent to the main campus of Upper Nile University. Malakal is near the international border with the Republic of Sudan and the border with Ethiopia.

Malakal is the second-largest airport in South Sudan. It one of the two international airports in the country, the other and largest being Juba International Airport. Malakal Airport lies approximately 521 kilometres north of Juba Airport.
