Infrastructure and transport in South Sudan
After more than two decades of civil war in Southern Sudan, infrastructures such as roads and water supply facilities are greatly lacking in the country while the city is undergoing growth due to a rapid influx of returnees.
The major items being carried out under the study are:
- Review of the current transport and transportation infrastructure plan and the formulation of a master plan for Juba’s urban transportation network for completion by 2015
- Implementation of a feasibility study for infrastructure projects with a high priority
- Formulation of a capacity development plan for engineers involved in road improvement and maintenance at the Ministry of Transport and Roads, Government of Southern Sudan and Ministry of Infrastructure, Central Equatoria State
