Historical sites in Somalia

Following the civil wars in the country most historical sites were destroyed in Somalia.

Historical landmarks at Berbera, Hargeysa and Zayla. The preservation of historic buildings including the Ottoman architecture and other historical buildings as well as buildings dating from the British Colonial presence in Somaliland is something that the Department of Antiquities at the Ministry of Tourism and Culture takes very seriously within the country

The ministry is trying to establish programs for the preservation of all historical monuments
