Transport system in Brazzaville City in Republic of Congo

Brazzaville is the capital city of Republic of Congo with a population of over 1.557 million people and an area of over 342,000 km².   The common means of public transport within the city are as follows:

Commuter taxis (Minibuses)

The taxis offer transport services within the city and they are painted with a green body and white top.

Shared taxis

There are also collective taxis that serve certain routes.

Railway

The major Congo-Ocean Railway line runs for about 320 miles (520 km) from Brazzaville west through Nkayi and Loubomo to Pointe-Noire.

Ferry

Brazzaville is linked by ferry to Kinshasa (4 km) the capital of DR Congo on River Congo. There are a number of both passenger and VIP ferries connecting Brazzaville to Kinshasa.

Buses

These are privately owned buses that provide transport services from Brazaville to upcountry destinations.

Air transport

The city is home to Maya-Maya Airport, located 3.75 kilometers from Brazzaville. Maya-Maya Airport has both regional and international connecting flights.
