
Cameroon is endowed with an abundance of natural resources, including in the agricultural, mining, forestry, and oil and gas sectors.
Oil and gas
According to the US EIA, Cameroon had 200 million barrels of proven oil reserves in 2012
Cameroon has one of the largest gas reserves in Africa, estimated at over 3.5 trillion cubic meters. Plans to commercialize this resource, for which there is now a ready market within the region and beyond, are already advanced.
Mineral resources
The country also has a huge reservoir of virtually untapped mineral resources which include iron ore, timber, bauxite, diamonds, gold, cobalt, nickel and manganese.
