Oil and gas

Algeria currently exports about 90% of its crude oil to parts of Western Europe. Its largest gas and petroleum deposits are found mainly in the Eastern Sahara and these are transported to various sea ports by means of pipelines.


Algeria also extracts iron ore, phosphates, zinc, coal, salt, uranium and lead.

Other exports

The country is also involved in the export of some construction materials, chemicals, textiles, clothing and metals

Algeria trades mainlywith France, Italy, the US, Spain and Germany.
