Kenya has 34,980 square kilometres of forest cover which is equivalent to 5.9% of its land area

Water bodies cover 11,230 square kilometres and the country has the world’s second largest fresh water Lake Victoria situated in western part of the country covering an area of 68,800 square kilometres

Wildlife

Kenya has 29 national parks including 4 marine parks (Malindi, Watamu, Kisite and Mombasa) and 22 game reserves. There are also five marine reserves located in Kisinga, Malindi, Mombasa, Watamu and Mpunguti and a national sanctuary in Maralal. The country has bid five animals that is lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, leopard and rhinoceros
